POS Rules

  • Every item rings in Toast (no exceptions). Tickets print to service bar.
  • Payment on order (no tabs) when the show flow requires it.
  • Handhelds allocated so each station has coverage.

Comps & Discounts (Standardize This Season)

  • Goal: visible, auditable, consistent discount taxonomy (e.g., VIP, Talent, Ops, Guest Recovery, NYE, etc.).
  • Proposal: create Toast Discount Codes with hard rules:
    • Percentage vs fixed $; require reason code; log staff ID.
    • Guest Recovery requires brief note; larger comps require manager PIN.
  • Comp Workflow (draft):
    1. Ring item(s) normally.
    2. Apply discount code with reason.
    3. Close check.
    4. Nightly export: manager audits comp/discount report.

Action Needed

Define the final discount codes & permissions before opening night and train at pre‑shifts.
